Attending the meeting on the Vietnamese side were Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, Minister and Chairman of Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh, as well as leaders of ministries, sectors and localities of Vietnam
As for the Russian Federation, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Russian Sub-Committee in the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on economic-trade and science-technology cooperation M. Akimov, Minister of Industry and Trade D. Manturov, Minister of Energy A. Novak, Minister of Agriculture D. Patorusev and leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, other ministries, sectors and localities of Russia.
Russian Prime Minister D.A. Medvedev welcomed and appreciated the official visit to Russia of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. He affirmed that Russia always wanted to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his pleasure to visit Russia again. He emphasized that Vietnam always attached great importance to and prioritized traditional cooperation and friendship with Russia, honored to be with Prime Minister Medvedev to launch the Vietnam Year in Russia and the Russia Year in Vietnam 2019-2020 during this trip.
The two Prime Ministers emphasized the importance of organizing the Vietnam Year in Russia and the Russia Year in Vietnam in 2019-2020, considering that it was a major event for bilateral relations, contributed to further tightening good friendship between the two countries as well as creating new impetus for bilateral cooperation. The two Prime Ministers highly appreciated the political relations between Vietnam and Russia, which were constantly strengthened, with exchange and contact at all levels, especially high level, maintained regularly on all channels.

In the friendly, trustworthy and open atmosphere, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Russian Prime Minister D.A. Medvedev exchanged directions and measures to further strengthen the potential cooperation between the two countries in different fields.
The two leaders were happy to see in the framework of effective implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union, which took effect from 2016, economic cooperation, trade and investment between Vietnam and Russia developed strongly over the past time, with two-way trade turnover of 4.57 billion USD in 2018 (it was over 6 billion USD according to Russian statistics), an increase of 28.6% compared to 2017. To further promote the potential of commercial cooperation between the two countries, Vietnam and Russia would continue to coordinate and facilitate nterprises and goods of the two countries to enter each other's markets.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Russian Prime Minister D.A. Medvedev affirmed that energy was one of the important pillars of Vietnam-Russia cooperation. The two sides agreed to promote oil and gas enterprises of the two countries to cooperate in oil and gas exploration and production in Vietnam's continental shelf and on Russian territory.
The two leaders agreed to promote the construction of the Nuclear Science and Technology Research Center in Vietnam and evaluated that Vietnam and Russia had potentials for cooperation in investment, with many projects proposed and implemented recently. The two sides welcomed the interest of the two countries' businesses to cooperate and develop urban transport infrastructure and railways in Vietnam.
The two Prime Ministers highly appreciated the cooperation in the field of national defense and security, which achieved many important results, contributed to strengthening strategic trust between the two countries; agreed to continue expanding cooperation in other potential areas such as science-technology, education-training, culture, sports and tourism; supported to strengthen the direct relationship between localities of the two countries, contributed to enriching and diversifying Vietnam-Russia comprehensive cooperation in different fields.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc thanked the Russian leaders and authorities for facilitating the Vietnamese community in Russia to live, work and study stably in Russia over the past time, as a bridge for the friendship and cooperation between the two peoples. The two Prime Ministers agreed on a number of specific measures to promote labor cooperation between the two countries, considering it as a very potential field, suitable to the needs of both sides.
The two leaders exchanged many international and regional issues of mutual concern, inclusive of maintaining peace, stability, ensuring security, safety, freedom of navigation and aviation in Asia-Pacific, consisting of the East Sea. Vietnam appreciated Russia for its great power role and hoped that Russia would continue to contribute positively to maintaining peace, security and stability in the region and the world.
The Prime Ministers believed the good result of the visit would create a new impetus to promote Vietnam-Russia cooperation in the fields. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc invited Russian Prime Minister D.A. Medvedev to visit Vietnam soon. Prime Minister D.A. Medvedev sincerely thanked and gladly accepted.
At the end of the talks, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Russian Prime Minister D.A. Medvedev witnessed the signing ceremony of many cooperation documents in the fields of nuclear energy, oil and gas, construction, tourism, justice, local cooperation.
