In addition, Mr. Duong Manh Son - PVGas General Director emphasized that PVGas would like to receive the support and cooperation from the US companies so that Vietnamese functional agencies would soon issue a set of technical standards, manage LNG operation as well as build a team of Vietnamese experts through US training programs to promote the implementation of LNG projects in Vietnam.
On the US side, the partners expected the meeting results would create a foundation for opening up real opportunities for cooperation between the two parties based on the strengths of businesses and the needs of PetroVietnam. AES leaders expressed their delight when the US$ 1.4 billion project for Son My LNG import terminal achieved initial success and the two sides (PVGas and AES) were completing talks to set up Son My LNG Infrastructure Development Company.
Representatives of LNG Limited/ Magnolia LNG, Tellurian said that LNG would provide a cleaner, more environmentally responsible energy solution and would therefore play an important role in shaping the energy future of Vietnam, by diversifying energy sources in combination with imported LNG. Vietnam LNG market is currently the destination for US companies because it is one of the dynamic markets in Southeast Asia.
