Receiving and working with Petrovietnam’s delegation on behalf of Zarubezhneft were General Director Kudryashov Sergei Ivanovich and Zarubezhneft’s leaders, representatives of the company at the member units, including Vietsovpetro and Rusvietpetro.

Petrovietnam President and CEO Le Manh Hung and the delegation visited Zarubezhneft’s Oil and Gas Projects Operation Center
Before proceeding to work, Petrovietnam’s delegation visited the Oil and Gas Projects Operations Center, coordinated with the partner to check the welcome to the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the five headquarters of Zarubezhneft.
At the beginning of the working session, Petrovietnam President and CEO Le Manh Hung thanked Zarubezhneft’s leaders for the thoughtful and respectful welcome to the delegation, and expressed his impression when visiting the operation center of Zarubezhneft.
At the meeting, General Director of Zarubezheft informed about a number of strategic and long-term orientations of Zarubezhneft in cooperation with Petrovietnam, including new areas such as digital transformation, establishment of a large database system and recycled energy.

Overview of the working session between Petrovietnam’s delegation and Zarubezhneft’s leaders
Regarding the operation of Vietsovpetro, the Zarubezhneft’s representative leader at Vietsovpetro reported on the preparation for the upcoming 54th Joint Venture Council meeting and the implementation of oil and gas projects within the framework of Vietsovpetro and Zarubezhneft’s activities on the continental shelf of Vietnam.
Regarding the operation of Rusvietpetro, Zarubezhneft’s General Director Kydryashov expressed his wish to expand the joint venture’s activities into investment and development of the West Yereagin field and affirmed that the Russian side would support Petrovietnam in all aspects in completing the procedures related to the project.
For his part, Petrovietnam Vice President Le Ngoc Son expressed his agreement on the preparation for the 54th Vietsovpetro Council meeting, at the same time would direct the working groups to actively coordinate to unify the contents of mutual interest; agreed on Vietsovpetro’s production plan in 2022.
Petrovietnam Vice President Le Ngoc Son also agreed on the goal in cooperation between Petrovietnam and Zarubezhneft in the coming time. Besides, Mr. Le Ngoc Son gave Petrovietnam’s assessment on the situation of some projects of Vietsovpetro and Zarubezhneft in Vietnam.
Regarding the Group’s cooperation activities in the Russian Federation, Vice President Le Ngoc Son also shared with Zarubezhneft’s leaders and agreed to actively work with the competent authorities of Vietnam to soon obtain an offshore investment license for the project

President and CEO Le Manh Hung suggested monthly online meetings between the two sides’ leaders to discuss the implementation of projects within the framework of Vietsovpetro and Rusvietpetro’s activities
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the development of renewable energy in Vietnam, especially in the development of floating solar power and offshore wind power. Currently, Zarubezhneft is actively working with Vietnamese competent authorities to receive approval to be included in the list of power projects in the 8th National Power Development Plan (Power Plan No.8). In addition, Zarubezhneft’s leader emphasized the need to modernize the infrastructure of Vietsovpetro.
According to Mr. Kydryashov - General Director of Zarubezhneft, Petrovietnam is implementing a digital transformation program while Zarubezhneft is the first Russian oil and gas company to approve a digital transformation strategy. Zarubezhneft is ready to exchange and coordinate with Petrovietnam and software partners in Russia to develop digital transformation for Petrovietnam.

At the meeting, President and CEO Le Manh Hung summarized the major tasks of cooperation between Petrovietnam and Zarubezhneft, which were expanding the legal framework, time limit and operating mechanism; the need to adjust the mechanism for the operation of Vietsovpetro, especially when the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Joint Venture would end in 2030; expanding the operating area of Vietsovpetro and Rusvietpetro when the production at both joint ventures has passed the peak. President and CEO Le Manh Hung said Petrovietnam supported Zarubezhneft’s idea in cooperation for renewable energy development, as well as appreciated Russia’s valuable experience in the field of power generation. Mr. Le Manh Hung suggested that leaders of the two sides would hold monthly online meetings to discuss the implementation of projects within the framework of Vietsovpetro and Rusvietpetro’s activities.

Before the end of the meeting, Petrovietnam Office Manager Tran Binh Minh announced the Decision of Petrovietnam President and CEO on awarding the medal “For the cause of Oil and Gas” to 12 individuals with contribution to the process of building and developing Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group. President and CEO Le Manh Hung awarded medal “For the cause of Oil and Gas” to some typical officers of Zarubezhneft.
