Attending the meeting were representative leaders of Marubeni in Japan and Vietnam. On the side of Petrovietnam, there were Vice President Pham Tien Dzung, and representative leaders of the Group’s Divisions/ Administration Office.

At the meeting, Mr. Seiji Kawamura briefly updated the results of Marubeni’s main activities in Vietnam and thanked Petrovietnam’s leaders for facilitating and supporting Marubeni in deploying activities in the field of energy in Vietnam. Especially, the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement on Gas Sale Agreement (GSA) for O Mon II Thermal Power Plant Project on 22nd February was an important step for the parties to continue to carry out necessary work to ensure the progress of the Block B Gas - Power Project Chain (Block B, 48/95 and 52/97).
Mr. Seiji Kawamura also informed about the implementation status of Quang Ninh LNG Power Plant Project, a project with the participation of Petrovietnam’s subsidiary, Petrovietnam Power Corporation – JSC (PV Power).
After discussing a number of contents related to the implementation of the upstream and midstream Block B project as well as updating the status of gas and power trade agreements, on behalf of Petrovietnam’s leaders, President and CEO Le Manh Hung thanked and acknowledged the contribution and effective cooperation of Marubeni Corporation in general as well as of Marubeni Vietnam in particular to the projects of Petrovietnam and its subsidiaries over the past time.
Petrovietnam President and CEO Le Manh Hung suggested that Marubeni continue to focus on developing the two cooperation projects mentioned above; At the same time, he believed that, with Marubeni’s experience, capacity, goodwill cooperation and determination, O Mon II Thermal Power Plant Project, Block B project chain and Quang Ninh LNG project would bring practical results in the coming years, meeting the expectations of the parties involved.
