Attending the meeting were leaders of the Divisions/ Administration Office of the Group, representatives of specialized divisions of JVPC.
The contract for Division of petroleum products at Block 15-2 of Vietnam continental shelf was signed in 1992. The current contractors of PSC contract include JVPC, Perenco Rang Dong Ltd. (Perenco) and PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP). The PSC contract will expire in 2025.
Since the signature of cooperation contract in 1998 and 2008 respectively, JVPC has put Rang Dong and Phuong Dong fields into industrial production with an initial oil production flow of about 28,000 barrels/day, and the highest flow of over 70,000 barrels/day.
Rang Dong and Phuong Dong fields, under the management of JVPC, are among the fields that bring stable, important oil and gas production and revenue for the State budget as well as high investment efficiency for PVEP and foreign partners of the project.
At the meeting, JVPC General Director Yuji Karata expressed his wish to continue oil and gas operations at Block 15-2 after 2025. It was the first meeting for JVPC to express wishes and listen to opinions and advice of Petrovietnam before taking the necessary preparatory steps to propose a program for deploying oil and gas activities at Block 15-2 for the future.
After listening to the discussion and opinions of the Divisions, Petrovietnam President and CEO Le Manh Hung highly appreciated the performance of JVPC in recent years as well as acknowledged the wishes of JVPC.
Petrovietnam President and CEO suggested the operator continue to study and work with the Divisions of Petrovietnam and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to come up with suitable proposals to benefit the home country and the partner.
The meeting took place in a solemn and cozy atmosphere. It is the foundation for the next cooperation of the two sides in the future.
