PV Drilling signs contract to supply PV DRILLING VI rig to Premier Oil

Petrovietnam Drilling and Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling) has just signed a contract to supply PV DRILLING VI rig to Premier Oil Vietnam Offshore B.V. to implement the drilling program in 2022.

According to the signed contract, from July 2022, PV DRILLING VI rig will drill 02 reliable wells and 01 optional well at Block 12W in Nam Con Son basin, offshore Vietnam, after the end of drilling campaign for ENI Vietnam B.V.


PV DRILLING VI jack-up rig

PV DRILLING VI is the latest generation jack-up rig and an upgraded version from Keppel FELS’s MOD V B Class design. Newly built and completed in February 2015, the PV DRILLING VI rig can drill up to 9,000m in maximum water depth of 121m, with a maximum combined drilling capacity of up to 2,500 kips (1,134 MT) and many other outstanding technical features. As of 12.00 pm on 27th February 2022, PV DRILLING VI rig has passed the milestone of 7 years of continuous safe operation without any loss of labor time (Zero LTI), which is recognized by International Association of Petroleum Drilling Contractors (IADC).

Up to now, there are regular jobs for all of PV Drilling’s rigs, in which PV DRILLING I and PV DRILLING II jack-up rigs are drilling for Vietsovpetro, PV DRILLING III for Repsol, PV DRILLING VI for ENI Vietnam B.V’s project, and PV DRILLING 11 for GBRS in Algeria. Especially, the TAD - PV DRILLING V rig is drilling for BSP in Brunei with a long-term contract of up to 10 years  (6 years for sure and 4 years for extension). The jobs prove PV Drilling’s efforts and perseverance during the past 2 years to strengthen internal resources and overcome challenges to firmly reach out.
