It is a forum for senior leaders of ASEAN oil and gas companies on topical themes such as global energy transformation, challenges for sustainable development and solutions to promoting energy transformation for sustainable development. The session was attended by the heads of petroleum companies/ State management agencies on oil and gas of 10 ASEAN member countries.

Attending the session on behalf of Petrovietnam were Mr. Le Manh Hung – President and CEO; Mr. Le Xuan Huyen – Vice President and Mr. Tran Hong Nam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) - ASCOPE Secretary General for the term 2019 – 2024.

Speaking at the Session, Petrovietnam President and CEO Le Manh Hung emphasized that the results of the session opened up specific cooperation opportunities between oil and gas companies in the region while enhancing the sharing of experience, technology, training on technical assistance... With the achievements of ASCOPE over the past time such as issuing a guideline for field clearance, white paper on gas industry, guidance on environmental health management system and information systems among ASCOPE member countries ....have made positive contributions to the development of ASCOPE to become ASEAN most prestigious organization in the field of oil and gas after 44 years of development. 

Within the framework of the Session, from 27th to 29th November 2019, the meetings of the Sub-Committees for Exploration and Production; Gas; Trade Partners and Research Policy and bilateral meetings took place. On the occasion, the Group's President and CEO had bilateral meetings with Mr. Sok Khavan - Minister of State, Cambodian Minister of Mines and Energy and General Directors of ASCOPE member state oil and gas companies: Petronas (Malaysia), PTT (Thailand), PNOC (Philippines), MOGE (Myanmar)…

Petrovietnam takes over the duties of ASCOPE Secretariat for the period of 2019-2024 from PTT

 In addition, this year's session marks a milestone with the event that Petrovietnam has taken over the duties of ASCOPE Secretariat for the period of 2019-2024 from Thailand National Petroleum Company (PTT). This is the first time Petrovietnam has taken on this important position. With the trust and support of all member countries, Petrovietnam pledges to do its best to contribute to the development of ASCOPE.
